Events and PTG Action Groups

The PTG Board meets monthly and operates as an umbrella organization, coordinating and overseeing several PTG Action Groups with the support of the Class Representatives.

These groups are formed from volunteers and are not elected positions. There are many meaningful volunteering possibilities that directly benefit our students. They include:

  • donating time
  • participate by bringing food or homemade decorations
  • leading activities & workshops
  • sharing professional experience
  • participating in school PTG events & celebrations

PTG

What PTG Did Last Year

The PTG hosts International Culture and Community Events such as:

Welcome BBQ Party

Halloween Party

Book Fair

Winter Crafts Fair

Fun social events for parents, ISS Breakfasts, Lunches, Dinners, International Cuisine Nights and much more.

The PTG also ensure recognition of certain special days to uphold Portuguese Culture and International Awareness such as Staff Appreciation Day, Freedom Day, Children’s Day.

To encourage and support learning we help organize Seminars & Workshops (with external Guest Speakers), invite parents to participate as Speakers or Facilitators as well as sign-up to Reading Sessions for younger children.

There are many meaningful volunteering possibilities that directly benefit our students, and this year we hope to have some exciting events to look forward to. Please keep your eyes open for more information and come share your talents, knowledge, and time during activities & events!

FAQs

Frequently Asked

What does it mean to be a PTG member?

That depends on you! We invite you to become an active participant in your student’s education by being an active participant at ISS Taguspark PTG. The level of involvement is up to you! Whether you are involved in participating on a committee, volunteering in the classroom, reading with your child at night, or you play an essential role at ISS Taguspark.

Why should I be a participating member?

When schools, families and communities work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer and like school more.

Other research shows that it pays to get involved. Participation through volunteering allows you to be "hands on" with your child’s education. Our children love to see us in this environment where they spend so many hours a day. You get to know your children’s teachers and your children’s friends.
